It is a great honor and privilege for me to assume of office of Secretary General of this prestigious organization which I admire so much.

This is an unprecedented time for the global economy. Global supply-chain disruptions due to pandemic and wars are leading to volatile macro-economic circumstances with shrinking demand and overall economic slowdown. As a result, geopolitical and economic landscape are rapidly getting transformed and our member organizations and respective industries are experiencing the impact.

As a infrastructure sector stakeholder of this significant region, we should work in partnership and collaboration with our members and related agencies to sustain the overall growth of respective member countries.

There are emerging trends in infrastructure development. Global commitment of Sustainable Development Goals and the commitments on environmental safeguards against the effects of climate change post COP27, there are obvious opportunities in green and sustainable infrastructure development.

IFAWPCA, with its diverse membership in a rapidly growing region, can definitely add significant value to the development process of its member countries. It can provide a platform for partnership among the member countries to share the knowledge and resources for collective growth and prosperity in a more sustainable way. For this very reason we have chosen the theme for the next 46th IFAWPCA Convention as “Partnering in Sustainable Infrastructure”.

I will assure you that I will do my best to uphold the spirit of this great organization.
